If you’ve been following Pat Flynn’s new Niche Site 2.0 case study, chances are you’ve been waiting in baited breath to get a peak at his new website. Remember, for the first month or so his plan was to keep the url quite.
Now though he’s gone and revealed the domain, and it’s: FoodTruckr.com!
I won’t link to the domain directly in this as to not give that site any experiment ruining link juice. The whole point of the case study is to see if he can get his niche site traffic (as well as make it profitable of course), whether that’s via the Google search engine or by other means.
What I Like About This Niche Site Experiment
So while this experiment has got criticism from some for not being ‘niche’ enough, I like that Pat’s doing things a bit differently this time around. His first site was based around finding one main keyword, and ranking it in search engines. No real social presence, no real traffic without Google. To me, this is a risky way to do businesses.
This time though, Pat Flynn has chosen to brand his website, and drive traffic based on real relationships he’s gone out and built up.
This is more of the path I take with my websites. While it can be profitable using Google traffic and driving them to your money pages, it’s far from reliable. This is why I teach people how to drive traffic without SEO in my course on how to get traffic.
If you want to learn how to create and maintain a real world business, hopefully Pat’s website will be a good example of that.
How Will Pat Monetize This Food Truck Website?
So, on to the question about money. How will he make money from this site? Well, that’s still to be seen. His latest post on the subject looks at some potential ways to monetize this website, although nothing is set in stone. First he’ll focus on building up traffic and establishing this brand, then he’ll begin implementing a way to make money from the site.
Whatever he decides to go with, it’ll be interesting to watch.
Want To Make Your Own Website Like Foodtruckr?
While you can always just watch Pat Flynn enter and (hopefully) dominiate a new niche, I feel this is perfect excuse for you to take action and do the same! If you want to set up a website and dominate a niche, follow those guides I just linked to to get going with your own online business!
Case Study Conclusion
So Foodtruckr is born, and we have a new case study to keep up with. Like many of you, I’m eager to see if Pat can get any financial success from this site. I wish him luck, not that he needs it after looking at his income reports. 😉
